Photographic Competition
Greg Healey’s iconic image of a wool press, standing like a sentinel at the entrance of a 100 year old woolshed is the national winner of the Australian Wool to the World Photographic Competition.
Throughout the years on the land the woolgrowers have taken inspiration from the great Australian Merino, and from the diverse Australian landscape - this inspiration will be captured and displayed via a photographic and multimedia competition.
Rural Press in conjunction with Australian Wool Innovation opened the competition on the 26 April 2007 within five rural press farming publications:
- The Land
- Queensland Country Life
- Stock Journal
- Farm Weekly
- Stock and Land
Many entries were received, many capturing the romance of the industry, the beauty of our land, and the success of 200 years. The competition closed on 1 June 2007.
Finalists have been announced, one per publication:
- Wayne Allen, South Australia
- Greg Healey, Victoria
- Amanda Manning, Western Australia
- Amanda Scott, New South Wales
- Susan Hegarty, Queensland
